This is when i’m just starting out, so nobody knows me. I was with Matthew Williams and Virgil Abloh. I was getting into it with the bouncers, and she came out. We just locked eyes. She didn’t even know us, but she was like, ‘Yo! why y’all not letting him in? What’s wrong with you?! Let that man in!’” “I knew from when we were younger she was the one. We both did, i think. So it was only right when we got older. We just kind of reconnected.” Rocky also talks about what we can expect from his upcoming album: “For this album, i’m more concerned with the new introduction to my fans. They changed. I changed. We changed. I don’t have a song purely dedicated to fatherhood. I do have songs where i’m talking about my life, and fatherhood is one of the things that i bring up, though-adapting to changes and having a work-family balance. For this new sound, if you take indie, mix it with classical, mix it with vintage memphis meets Dipset meets Wu-Tang, that’s where i grab a lot of inspiration from.” ✍️ @ihategum

10 months agoWhat an honor, a blessing, and a privilege. I never want to take these moments for granted. In a week where my faith was tried, my peace wavered, and the weight of the world began to descend, God was beyond gracious. 🥹 It’s always hard preparing for one moment you may or may not get back. In my mind what kept repeating were the words “Trust in Jesus”. I didn’t know what the outcome would be, but I did know He was who I wanted to lead me through the journey. What an amazing journey it was! It never ceases to amaze me how powerful He is to help those who trust in Him overcome the battles within. His word is sufficient, His promises hold true, and all the glory belongs to Him. 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️ At the end of the day it is FAR beyond gold. Once again, I am immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to represent my country on the world’s biggest stage. 8 months agoNBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement: “Dikembe Mutombo was simply larger than life. On the court, he was one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players in the history of the NBA. Off the floor, he poured his heart and soul into helping others. There was nobody more qualified than Dikembe to serve as the NBA’s first Global Ambassador. He was a humanitarian at his core. He loved what the game of basketball could do to make a positive impact on communities, especially in his native Democratic Republic of the Congo and across the continent of Africa. I had the privilege of traveling the world with Dikembe and seeing first-hand how his generosity and compassion uplifted people. He was always accessible at NBA events over the years – with his infectious smile, deep booming voice and signature finger wag that endeared him to basketball fans of every generation. Dikembe’s indomitable spirit continues on in those who he helped and inspired throughout his extraordinary life. I am one of the many people whose lives were touched by Dikembe’s big heart and I will miss him dearly. On behalf of the entire NBA family, I send my deepest condolences to Dikembe’s wife, Rose, and their children; his many friends; and the global basketball community which he truly loved and which loved him back.”
